Mother of the Year....Pays For Son’s Heroin
In today’s edition of WTF this mother takes her love for her son too another level. A mother has revealed that she pays for her son’s heroin as it is easier for her to see him using drugs than withdrawing from them. The woman, identified as Hope by Nat Geo’s Drugged series, told the program that she wants her 21-year-old son Schuyler to get help for his addiction, but will support him in the meantime. ‘It much worse for me to see my son withdrawing from heroin than when he’s on it,’ she said – even though doctors predicted he has just six months to live if he does not kick the habit. At the end of the program, viewers learn that Schuyler enrolled in a 90-day program but left after two months. In its Drugged series, National Geographic looks at the effects of drug addiction on the body, using graphics to delve inside the lungs, heart, blood vessels and brain. ‘Drugged: High on Heroin’ aired on Sunday night and will next air on Thursday.
