29-year-old James Tadros lured the girl away from her mother, then - after forcing her into the women's restroom - covered her head with a plastic bag and stuffed her face in a toilet. Employees of the Jacksonville store intervened and Tadros was arrested.

A Florida man tried to kill a 9-year-old girl in a Best Buy bathroom, jamming a plastic bag over her head and stuffing her face in a toilet before employees intervened, authorities said.

Another customer heard the girl screaming and crying inside the women's restroom at the Jacksonville store and notified store staff. An employee looked under the stall and discovered a horrific scene.

James Tadros, 29, had kicked and beaten the girl bloody and was forcing her head inside the toilet, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The 6-foot, 250-pound brute dropped the girl, and she escaped beneath the stall to one employee who whisked her out of the restroom. Other employees held Tadros until sheriff's deputies arrived.

The girl told investigators Tadros was a stranger, and he punched and kicked her before putting the bag over her head. The sheriff's office said there was blood all over the stall.

Tadros lured the 9-year-old girl away from her mother before trying to kill her in the women’s restroom. Best Buy is offering counseling to employees involved in saving the girl from the 29-year-old.

Surveillance video showed Tadros luring the girl away from her mother before the attack, authorities told the Florida Times-Union.

Tadros was taken to the police station and damaged the interview room, authorities said.
He was charged with attempted murder, false imprisonment and criminal mischief.
Best Buy spokesman Jon Sandler said the company sought counseling for the employees involved.
"Basically, they're heroes," Sandler told the paper. "They saved the girl."

3 charged with assault after beating a man who mistakenly photobombed picture.

Three people in Denver face charges for beating a man unconscious after he stepped into frame for one of their photos, authorities said.

The unidentified victim, 30, suffered facial damage, intracranial hemorrhaging and permanent blindness in his right eye, reported The Denver Channel.
In the early morning hours of May 11, that man accidentally stepped into the shot outside a bar and infuriated Bryanna Warren, 25, who started arguing with and pushing the man, according to an arrest affidavit.

He pushed back to get Warren off him and walked away. But Warren and Lindsye Newton, 25, allegedly trailed him and continued to lob insults.
The man eventually pushed them both away, at which point Terrell Moore, 27, allegedly punched him unconscious.

A police officer says he witnessed the blow and tried to protect the sprawled out man, but Newton kept pummeling him with her purse, even though he was already out cold, The Denver Channel said.
Moore is charged with second-degree assault causing serious bodily injury.
Newton and Warren are each charged with third-degree assault on an at-risk adult "for allegedly continuing to assault the victim while he was lying unconscious on the ground," the district attorney's office said in a news release.
Moore's bond was set at $10,000, Newton's was set at $5,000 and Warren's was set at $2,000.

They are scheduled to appear in Denver County Courtroom Aug. 22 and 23. 

Trayvon Martin Mural Sparks Controversy.

The work is 'We Are All Trayvon Martin,' a 50-feet-long, 8-feet-high mural unveiled by Miami artist Huong at the Florida capitol on Friday.

Huong, a Vietnam War refugee and peace activist, wanted to show solidarity with the Dream Defenders, who are in the midst of a month-long sit-in outside of Gov. Rick Scott's office to advocate against the state's Stand Your Ground law.

“The sorrow from [Trayvon Martin’s death] seemed to endlessly carry on, and African-American parents everywhere hugged their sons just that much tighter,” Huong said in a release.

"We decided not to stay quiet and make sure that we would be the voice Trayvon Martin was not allowed to keep. That is why we created this work, to ensure that everyone knows of the horrors that are still evident in our society and to educate the public on the monstrosity that is racism."

Huong hopes to take the mural on the road, eventually to Washington D.C.

At the first floor rotunda on Friday, Huong invited the public to write their own messages on the mural.

She also specifically invited Scott to sign the piece, which has portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Malcolm X.

"We all are Trayvon Martin," Huong said. "It is a new day, our country has suffered an ugly past, but we have the opportunity to make it a very beautiful future." 

Sky News Cameraman Killed In Egypt.

Sky News cameraman Mick Deane has been shot and killed in Egypt this morning.

Mick, 61, had worked for Sky for 15 years, based in Washington and then Jerusalem.

The married father of two was part of our team covering the violence in Cairo. The rest of the team are unhurt.

The Head of Sky News John Ryley described Mick as the very best of cameramen, a brilliant journalist and an inspiring mentor to many at Sky.

"Mick Deane was a really lovely, lovely guy," he said. "He was great fun to work with, he was an astonishingly good cameraman who took some brilliant pictures.

"But he also had a first class editorial brain. He had brilliant ideas.

"He was also good fun after the job was done. He was laid back, and I'm really going to miss him, like lots of people here."

Sky's Foreign Affairs Editor Tim Marshall called Mick "a friend, brave as a lion but what a heart… what a human being".

He added: "Micky was humorous in a dry way, he was wise and when you're on the road with small teams, people like that are diamonds to be with.

"Our hearts go out to his family. He died doing what he'd done so brilliantly for decades."

Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "I am saddened to hear of the death of cameraman Mick Deane, covering Egyptian violence.

"My thoughts are with his family and the Sky News team."

Two Colorado teens killed after trying to extort neighbor over Sextape.

A Colorado man allegedly confessed to killing two teenage boys after the pair tried to blackmail him with a video of him asking one of the boys for sex, cops and friends said.
William Otto, 43, told investigators that the two teens — Gustavo (Danny) Espinosa-Gamboa, 16, and Jonathan Gonzalez, 15 — threatened to go to cops with the video unless he coughed up $20,000, according to ABC News.
Issiah Furley, 17, said the two teenagers showed him the cell phone video before they went missing on Friday.
“The video made me not feel good in my stomach,” Furley told 9News.
Furley, who lives near Otto’s High Street home in Adams County, said he pleaded with his pals not to go through with the extortion plot.
“They said they were going to try and get money from him,” Furley told the news station. “And I told them, ‘Don’t do it.’”
The recording allegedly captured Otto, a maintenance supervisor at Harlan Bakeries, asking Espinosa-Gamboa for oral sex.
“They told me that he was over here hitting on (Danny), telling (Danny) to do nasty things on him,” another friend, Emilio Baigle, told ABC News.
“They said they were going to try to get some money out of it or sent him to jail,” Baigle said.
Investigators said the doomed teens went to Otto’s house with a note demanding $10,000 each to keep quiet about the video.
Otto, who neighbors said often invited teenage boys into his home to drink alcohol, told cops that he refused to pay and fatally shot them with a handgun after one of the boys came at him with a knife, ABC News reported.
Furley said he went to Otto’s home Saturday morning to ask about his friends after they were reported missing.
But the usually friendly Otto brushed him off.
“I don’t have time for this,” Otto allegedly told him at the door. “I have to go.”
Furley called the police and reported Otto — who had loaded his truck with suspicious items that included a gas can, a shovel and a rake — was acting “kind of scary,” according to ABC News.
Investigators went to Otto’s home, but he wasn’t there.
The suspect turned himself in to police on Sunday and confessed to the double murder, the news station reported.
Otto told cops that he wrapped the bodies in blankets and drove them 150 miles to his family’s farm, where he buried them.

He pointed authorities to the shallow graves before he was booked on murder charges. He was being held without bail on Wednesday.

California man who sawed off hands after stabbing father.

A California man accused of sawing off his own hands after he viciously stabbed his father appeared in court to face an attempted murder rap Tuesday — after he had the severed extremities reattached.
A heavily bandaged Jason Dunn, 27, was ordered held in lieu of $575,000 bail after he was arraigned on a slew of charges that include attempted murder and assault at Shasta County Superior Court for the bizarre attack on his father on June 17, The Redding Record Searchlight reported.

Dunn allegedly stabbed his 59-year-old dad, Gregory Dunn, with a pair of scissors multiple times to his neck, throat and upper body during a spat inside their Sheer Drive home in Redding.
The enraged son then marched into a shop on the property and sliced off both his hands with a radial saw, cops said.

Emergency workers arrived to find a wounded Gregory Dunn lying in the driveway with his bleeding son standing nearby with his hands severed at the wrists, cops said.
“After stabbing his father multiple times, Jason Dunn said he then used a power saw to sever both his hands,” wrote Det. Will Gardner of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office in a police report, according to the Redding Record Searchlight.
Both were rushed to local hospitals, where they were saved from the life-threatening wounds.
Sgt. Brian Jackson of the Redding Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit told CBS News that the arrest came after Jason Dunn underwent extensive surgery at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto.
Neighbors have said that they often heard the father and son arguing.
Jason Dunn is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 15.

New York couple arrested in Florida.

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Two New Yorkers are being held in a Florida jail after officials said they flew to the Sunshine State solely to commit widespread fraud.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said 22-year-old Graisy Pichardo and 26-year-old Myles Nicholas were arrested Wednesday and are being held on $15,000 bail each.

Deputies said they tried to buy gift cards at two Walmarts on Tuesday but left when asked for identification. Store officials contacted law enforcement.

Deputies say they found the pair inside a rental car outside a store. They said the duo had used cloned credit cards to buy $3,000 in gift cards at several stores. They say a machine to clone credit cards was found.
It couldn't be determined if they have an attorney. They are charged with theft and other felonies.
