Officer Jonathon Bond was chasing a non-seatbelt-wearing suspect on Elvis Presley Blvd. in Memphis on Monday when he clipped a guy wire and sent the vehicle flying.
Incredibly, he walked away unscathed.
Taking a picture of the upended car, he sent it to Memphis police director Toney Armstrong
"I can certainly say it was a little shocking to me to see one of my squad cars half way up a pole," Armstrong told Wreg.com.
"Every time you get to a point on this job when you say I've seen absolutely everything, nothing could shock or surprise you, you get something that shocks and surprises you."
News Channel 3 reports that drivers who came to a halt to look at the scene were given tickets for slowing down traffic.
