With a release date set right in the heart of the awards season, Relativity are now starting the push for "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper's "Out Of The Furnace." We'd wager a trailer is likely just around the corner, but until then, the first official images from the movie are here to remind you what a star studded affair this truly is.
Featuring Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard and Willem Dafoe, the film is a gritty Rust Belt drama tale about a steelworker (Bale) who searches for his Iraq war veteran brother (Affleck), as they both get caught up in a criminal ring. "You often find superheroic people wearing capes and costumes in film today," Cooper told USA Today about the movie. "But working-class Americans are the real heroes. This is the story of this man who works in a blast furnace, but with themes of justice, retribution and courage."
In addition to the excellent cast, the film will boast an original song from Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, with Cooper revealing that the PJ tune "Release" was a particular inspiration for the screenplay. So it looks like we're in for some intense stuff, soundtrack-wise.
"Out Of The Furnace" will turn up the heat on November 27th.
